Mac programs to run on Windows starting in 2007

By Ozz
This report claims that around the time of OS X 10.5 Leopard's release, Apple will also make available a set of APIs to allow Windows to run Mac Universal Binary applications.

This rumor was mentioned elsewhere several months ago, but wasn't linked so directly with the next version of OS X.

-While this is still in the rumor stage, it is very likely to happen due to the recent release of Boot Camp which allows users to install and dual boot Microsoft Windows on Intel Macs.

Well it seems that Davorak wasn't crazy after all. I guessed that Apple would make the jump to Windows sometime in the future but definately not this soon. I'm very interested to see what comes down the line from Apple this year.

Google patents free Wi-Fi

By Ozz
The search-engine giant has developed and patented three technologies for offering wireless Internet access, and advertising, free of charge.

- Well it looksl like it's coming to more of a reality. Free wifi looks like its just on the horizon, but what will the costs be. Now we all know the old saying "there's no such thing as a free lunch." So it makes you wonder who's going to be paying for all this?

There are also many other questions like...how stable, safe and secure will it be? I don't see any wifi that's free being too secure and stable cause well...you get what you pay for. (^-^)

Well just have to wait and see.

Sony's announced PS3 consoles will launch region-free for games. Yeah, you heard it, any game anywhere in the world will play on any PlayStation 3 console purchased in any nation.

- It seems that Sony is following Nintendo's model when it comes to gaming...somewhat. This announcement could mean big things in Sony's future: worldwide releases, multilanguage games etc. Keep you eyes open and see what develops.

Nintendo Revolution getting a new name!

By Ozz
Well it seems that the Revolution...is over! LOL
I find this somewhat dissapointing and surprising. I, for the longest time assumed that Nintendo's next gen was going to be named Revolution, eventhough its predicessors have always had codenames before them.

I find this dissapointing because, well Revolution is a cool name. Yeah that's pretty much it. (^-^)
No matter what it's called I'm still looking forward to what Nintendo has in store for us this year.

Middle School Suspends 20 for looking at offensive MySpace AT HOME

By Ozz
Some parents questioned whether the school overstepped its bounds by disciplining students for actions that occurred on personal computers, at home and after school hours.

- Over dramatization at its finest. In recent months MySpace has been under a ridiculous amount of fire due to the sudden influx of teens to the site. The majority of the hype behind MySpace is due to the media's unhealthy ability to choose a target and stick withit until everyone including themselves get sick of it.

I must admit when I first heard this story I thought it may have been a Mass. school. LOL (ref. 6 year old sex assault story), but I was wrong it was in Calif. The question I have is what would've happened if they showed the page ont he news, and every student ended up viewing it? Would the whole school get suspended?

More People Realizing That Copy Protection Is Just Bad

By Ozz
It seems that a growing number of people are recognizing that, despite everything the entertainment industry says, copy protection simply doesn't make any sense. Not from a consumer standpoint and not from a business standpoint.

- -- This article hits on a lot of major problems with DRM on digital media. While the idea of the DRM makes sense the execution of the idea has been nothing but poor. This article explains the resoning behind the DRM and questions the company's purpose behind implimenting DRM.

This is a very good article and sheds more light on corporate america's "war on consumers." They too are having trouble proving the WMDs exist. (^-^)

the Boondocks to take 6 month vacation

By Ozz
MSNBC Article

I have been a long time fan of the Boondocks ever since it started back in '99. While I'm somewhat dissapointed that I'll see nothing new for half a year I know it's all for the best in the end. I'm sure the deadlines of creating a daily comic could take it's toll on anyone, and I'm glad that Aaron is taking a well deserved vacation.

The one thing that I'm worried about is what if something crazy happens during the year? My favorite pro black revolutionary won't be there to comment on it. =(
Oh well. Can't wait to see what happens at the end of the six months.

Engadget: Live from the Steve Jobs Keynote

By Ozz
This is where to find your live-up-to-the-minute coverage of Steve Jobs' keynote today...

- Ok so the Apple keynote has come and gone and in the end we have a new verison of the mac mini, new leather cases for the ipod and a new stereo system for the ipod. Now I wasn't expecting anything spectacular from this speech, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't have been welcome. Quite honestly I'm kinda dissapointed with what Apple unvieled today, as are many other people. While the products displayed are good, I many can't help but to want more. I think all the rumors about touch screen ipods and new ibooks generated a little too much hype over todays keynoe.

What's funny about all this is that Leo Laporte predicted in the last TWiTcast that Apple would unviel a new IPod sock...well Leo you were close, but it's leather. (^-^)
